Revisualize Histories (on going)

Shortly after the sirens sounded to signal the end of the curfew, the Indonesian National Army immediately launched an attack to push back the Dutch troops from the capital city of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This battle lasted for six hours to prove Indonesia’s existence in the international world. This moments known as Serangan Umum 1 Maret, 1949. Reenactment is an activity to relive historical events by wearing certain uniforms and some special accessories based on historical research, literature studies, and interviews. It takes imagination and creativity to revisualize historical figures and events, in contrast to cosplay based on a fictional setting. Reenactment is often held in a moment of war with full blast effects and smoke bomb effects. The reenactment actor’s called a reenactor.

Its uniqueness, not only limited Indonesian historical events, but also reenact historical events around the world, such as World War I and II, Vietnam War, German War, the Gulf War, and other wars that happen in the past. If we look more deeply, reenactor is a form of reflection from us in the past to revive our love for our homeland, where we were born, through fun and freedom-filled historical education.
